Here you will find what ceramic students have to say about the range of pottery classes run by Clay with Carole…

50th Birthday Party

I booked my 50th party with Carol, and invited 11 guests. We all had an amazing time hand building and painting our "masterpieces". We all had a go at throwing as well, and given we were all novices 9 out of 12 of us produced something "cylinder shaped" in 20 minutes. Carol was really helpful in getting us all started, and then provide expert help and guidance as needed throughout the day. Also thanks to Carol's assistant for running the bowl making group. We look forward to picking up our vases, bowls, cylinders, animals and "teapot" in a few weeks time. High recommended.

8th wedding Anniversary

My husband booked the 2 hour wheel pottery session as a surprise for our 8th wedding anniversary and what a fantastic experience we had. Carole was a great teacher. She made it a fun and enjoyable session at the same time as making sure we actually learned the 7 steps necessary to create our very own masterpieces to take home.

A really friendly and helpful teacher

A really friendly and helpful teacher together with wonderful studio facilities, set in a pretty private garden make this a super way to learn new skills.  Recommended.

Excellent facility and I thought it was great that everyone has the freedom to create whatever they wanted- it was not dictated.

Friendly and Unpretentious

A friendly and unpretentious setting, with room for people of all abilities and aims. Carole is happy to teach skills, give advice and to tailor future classes and plans around the particular class. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend this class

Great classes with good thorough teaching. I started as a completed beginner and have gained confidence as the weeks have gone on. I highly recommend this class.

Lovely garden studio

Its a great, fun course in a lovely garden studio.  Carole is a really good teacher, teaching you the basics of ceramic making from preparing the clay to firing your work in the kiln.  It's a really relaxed atmosphere and you can be as creative as you like!

Mum and Daughter wheel bonding

Myself and my mum had a wonderful time experiencing a pottery wheel for the first time! We'd only ever done clay hand building so we're both very excited. We learnt so much and had such a wonderful time! I'm surprised I actually made something half decent :) Carole is amazing and I learnt more about pottery/clay/pottery wheel in 2 hours then i ever did at school! Thank you!

Stimulating and interesting

I found Clay with Carole for a beginner to be stimulating and interesting. I'm learning a lot. It's lovely to be in a pleasant, bright studio with garden surroundings. The small friendly groups allow individual attention. I've been delighted to create some lovely pieces in a short time.

Plenty of choice and ideas. Beginning to be therapeutic for me.
